Coaches vs Cancer

Basketball empowers coaches, their teams and communities to join the fight against cancer.  Since its inception in 1993, high school and college coaches across the country have raised more than $70 million to help the Society fund groundbreaking cancer research, provide up-to-date cancer information, advocate for public health policies that benefit the community and provide free local programs that improve quality of life for cancer patients.

We would like to invite you to join our team of over 2,000 high school and college coaches nationwide.

Your commitment to joining Coaches vs. Cancer would make a real impact in the lives of those touched by the disease.  We need your support to continue the Society’s mission to eliminate cancer as a major health problem.  Participating in Coaches vs. Cancer is fun, and it teaches players and other students in your school valuable charitable and character-building lessons as well.  It’s also easy…

We are both located in Jackson County and have a high cancer rate in our area. As a result, we have a cancer center locally called the Don Meyers Cancer Center. The players and coaches at both schools have been affected by cancer and thought a good way to give back to our community was to make our basketball game a county vs. cancer instead of the coaches vs. cancer. The money we raise is donated to our local cancer center. Last year we donated $2,000.

This season we raised $5,041.74 by having a silent auction, selling tshirts, monetary donations, etc.
Josh Blankenship Milan josh.blankenship@milan.k12.in.us
