Boys IBCA ALL-STATE TOP 15 UNDERCLASSMEN and Honorable Mention 2011
The Underclass First Team features Kokomo's D.J. Balentine
and Park Tudor's Kevin "Yogi" Ferrell. Their teams will play in
Saturday's Class 4A and Class 2A title games, respectively.
Others on the Underclass first 15 are Austin Burgett of Avon,
Rapheal Davis of Fort Wayne South, Kellen Dunham of Pendleton
Heights, Gary Harris of Hamilton Southeastern, Jeremy Hollowell of
Lawrence Central, Ronnie Johnson of North Central, DeJuan Marrero
of Bowman Academy, Nick Osborne of Muncie Central, Ron Patterson
of Broad Ripple, Jalen Pendleton of Evansville Bosse, Joe Reed of
Center Grove, Glenn Robinson III of Lake Central and D'Vauntes
Smith-Rivera of North Central.
The IBCA all-state teams are selected in a process where all
IBCA-member head coaches have the opportunity to vote for top
players from schools on the traditional regional structure of the
non-class tournament format. A coach representing each of those 16
regional areas, plus six at-large representatives, then meet to
review those votes and finalize the selections. Wood is the
chairman of the boys all-state selection meeting.
